YUREVICHI Polesie district, Belorussia.

Jews are first mentioned in the late 19th century. Their population was 65 in 1811 and 1,287 (out of a total of 1,577) in 1897. A Musar yeshiva was active in the town until the Soviet authorities closed it down in 1922. In the same year, a Jewish elementary school was opened. In 1926, the Jewish population was 1,139 and in the early 1930s, 60% of the Jews were artisans. Two Jewish kolkhozes near the town supported 50 Jewish families in 1930.

The Germans occupied Yurevichi on 22 August 1941. A ghetto was established in October. On 19 November 1941, 200-250 Jews were murdered on the banks of the Pripet Rever. The rest were murdered beside a pit near the town on 27 November 1941. In all the Nazis executed over 400 Jews.
